Understanding Dealer Intervention

Background

The Dealer Intervention functionality in Kooltra allows traders to intervene on electronic pricing requests received from clients on the Client Portal or on requests from sales dealers trading on behalf of (TOBO) clients. There are a number of situations in which this might be necessary, such as:

  • Trade requests above a pre-defined notional.

  • Trade requests over a certain tenor limit.

  • Trade requests in relatively illiquid currency pairs.

How to Turn On Dealer Intervention Functionality

The Dealer Intervention functionality can easily be turned on or off via the Entity Settings in Kooltra. This is useful, for example, if you wish to prevent trade requests from being routed for manual pricing outside of trading hours.

To turn the functionality on or off, follow the steps below:

  1. Within Kooltra, navigate to X-System > Entity Settings in the navigation panel on the left side of the screen.

  2. At the top of the Entity Settings page, click on the Apps tab.

  3. Scroll down to the Trade Execution app.

    1. To turn the feature on, check the box next to Enable Dealer Intervention, specify the Treasury Account that should be used for booking double-leg tickets executed via the Dealer Intervention workflow, and then click Update:

    2. To turn the feature off, uncheck the box next to Enable Dealer Intervention and click Update.
